Ouch!

I will not be naming names here, if you read this and I am talking about you, your cheeks should burn and you should feel ashamed.
I am tired of having a knife in my back every time I turn around. I am tired of you trying to change the way I am raising my children because of your guilt, insecurity, and other various issues. My life is good, I am trying to raise my children the way the Lord has asked me to do. I am a righteous wife, mother and daughter so please stop hurting me and my family. We all have the opportunity to choose how we live our lives here on the earth, I have chosen my path and would appreciate a little respect.
I will not turn this into what you want it to be, so this is me turning the other cheek. I got that advice from a great man.

New Attitude

I have been a little too crabby lately, maybe it is PMS or something I have no idea. I am working very hard to stay positive. Here is a list of 10 things I am grateful for today:
1. Air conditioning
2. Spending time with my husband
3. Madi, Ella, Meghan, Ben, Emma, and Will
4. Washing machine
5. Dryer
6. A boy who is starting to want to potty train!!!!!
7. Doppler Radar
8. Scriptures
9. Temples
10. Great Gospel Doctrine teacher and lessons. I am learning so much!

I think I feel a little better, I would probably feel a lot better if the 20 things that are bothering me weren't!

:)

After a very rough week last week that included 2 car accidents and a very homesick teenager, today is Sunday and a new beginning. The morning started with a fantastic thunderstorm and to me symbolically washed away all the mess from last week. We made it to church in time to take the sacrament (we would have been early except the storm was so bad we couldn't see to drive) and I personally feel restored to my former self. Maybe the sacrament is like a spa treatment for the soul. My nap probably helped too.
As I was laying in bed listening to the hum of activity that is my family's sound, I overheard this conversation:
Ben-"Hey, do you want to go play in my room?"
Will-"Yes."
Ben-"Alright, let's go!"
Will-"You are the best."
I love my family.

How Do You Know?

I'm not expecting to really find out my answer here, it is just something that is weighing on my mind and well, this is where I work out my thoughts sometimes. How do you know when it is time to move on? How do you know when the things that have defined you and brought you the most joy won't or shouldn't happen again? How do you move from one stage of life to the next? How do you know for sure you are making the right decision?
All my life all I ever wanted to be was a mom. I never wanted to get my college degree, to travel the world, to have my own place all by myself. I never even wanted to live alone. (I actually have only had my own room for 1 year of my life and I hate sleeping alone in a room!) So, I guess I am having trouble with ending my time of pregnancy and newborns for a new life of teenagers and whatever else I will do. I know all babies grow up and I can't keeping having kids forever, but they are so perfect, sweet and makes me feel so close to heaven. For me feeling like Heavenly Father trusts me enough to send me one of His choice spirits to raise is such a honor.
Fast, pray, attend the temple, get a blessing, etc., etc., will help comfort and guide me, but even with all that how do you end the greatest era of your life? I have loved feeling all my babies grow and move inside me, to meet them for the first time, and to teach them as they grow. I just don't know how to close the best chapter of my life.

Talk about a wrench thrown in your plans...

Today I was driving on Highway 70 and heard a big thunk. I thought maybe something fell off my car, and I started to get concerned when I started hearing a clicking sound. Meg was with me and she thought it was an old man's car next to us, of course really it was us. We made it to our destination, and I got out to investigate. I heard a really loud hissing noise and knew it was not a good sign! My tire was quickly losing air and had something sticking out of it. Unfortunately my husband was working and could not hear his phone, so I called my brother. He is the best brother ever! He took his lunch hour to come and change my tire. After he got the old one off, we pulled out the piece of metal that was sticking out of my tire and it was half a wrench! I have no idea how I ran a wrench over and managed to get it stuck straight up and down, but I did!!! So, today I am thankful for my brother and the preparation of having a spare tire with air in it and a jack!

Words of Wisdom

Yesterday Will woke me up with the sweetest thought. "Chickens make the sun wake up"
I thought it was the cutest thing ever. Much cuter than 3 days ago when he told me "You are ruining my life". Man, I love having a 3 year old, they are the best!

Deep Thoughts

I always seem to ponder while I am doing mindless things. I get my best thinking done while I am showering and drying my hair. Maybe it's because the six children's volume is somewhat muted, I don't know. While I was wiping down the kitchen counters today I was thinking about how much I love my toaster. Stupid, right? Not if you can toast 4 pieces of bread on two seperate toasting settings at once! Yeah, I know, I really need to get out of the house.
